Job Responsibilities
Job duties would consist of, but not limited to, receiving samples, sample preparation for analyses and metals digestion. The successful candidate will be required to perform various environmental sample analyses including pH, TDS, alkalinity, and other EPA mandated drinking water parameters. Other routine lab duties will be involved. Must be able to communicate with department level experts on technical questions or issues that may arise. Must be able to follow strict lab protocol, be dependable, self-motivated, detail oriented and work well in a team atmosphere. These positions have the possibility of moving into more advanced metals analysis in the wet lab.
Qualifications
A BS/BA in Chemistry with minimal amount of experience in an environmental lab is preferred. A BS/BA in Biology or other science field with 3 years or more of experience in a working lab is acceptable.

Job Responsibilities
Operating a HPLC analyzing various types of environmental samples, i.e. drinking waters, waste waters, industrial discharge, natural resources extraction industries (mining and petroleum) using standard EPA methods. Analyses for organic compounds using high-pressure liquid chromatography with UV, fluorescence, or conductivity detection. Maintain accurate notebooks, files, training and other records. Process data in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). Must be able to understand and follow procedures, SOP’s, analytical methods, etc. Strict adherence to QA/QC requirements and policies.
Qualifications
BS in Chemistry/Biology with minimum of 3 years of production laboratory experience. Minimum of 3 years experience running HPLC and/or IC. Extraction experience with SPE and experience with post-column reaction analyses also preferred. The successful candidate must be efficient with daily workload and be able to work without direct supervision.
Special Training And Skills Desired
Knowledge of EPA Methods in environmental organics lab.
